Why pay an additional fee for primary care services when
they are already covered under my halth care insurance?
Although the same "clinical" services may be provided, the
level of patient care may be quite different. Patients turn to Dr.
Cortland to fill a need unmet under current healthcare plans -
such as individualized attention, improved access to care, continuity in care, real advocacy and more.
Most health care plans typically will cover the cost of care provided by
Dr. Cortland, however she'd be considered an "out-of-network provider,"
meaning that your health care insurance would likely reimburse you at lower level.
By adjusting your employer health care plan election during the next enrollment period, you may
end up offsetting any added costs. For example, instead of participating in a more costly plan,
consider shifting to a less expensive plan with higher deductibles and lower premiums -
such as a major catastrophic plan.
